Noranti and Rygel haggle with traders for maps of Tormented space. At the end of their deal, the traders produce a
crew member they want to get rid of. Chiana, outraged by the treatment of Talikaa, buys her from them. Trouble begins almost immediately. Chiana's sexual side increases dramatically. The other crew members strongest traits also seem to increase. When Talikaa goes missing, John and Aeryn go looking for her. She knocks them out with a horrible scream, and takes from them the strongest traits. She also gets to Rygel, Chiana, D'argo and to some extent, Scorpius (she has only taken his Peacekeeper side). Sikozu is immune to the woman's powers, so Talikaa disables her by removing an arm and leg. The trader ship seems to be returning for what they think is anger over money that Rygel forged. But the ship eventually comes to a stop. D'argo, Aeryn, Rygel and Chiana go to check it out. While there, they see a transmission by a Diagnosan, explaining what Talikaa really is. That she has harvested these parts of them and they need to retrieve them in order to stay alive. They relay this to John, who is on his last legs. They use Scorpius to lure her out. John and Sikozu follow her to her lair. John distracts her, so that Sikozu can get the essances. He kills Talikaa in the process. John and Aeryn later have a discussion about their relationship. John insists it's over and when Aeryn fights him back about it, he has Pilot kill the comms for a few seconds. He explains that he suspects that Scorpius has been using the comms to keep tabs on John, and that if Scorpius ever found out they still had something, he would use Aeryn and the baby to get to John. Not but seconds after his explaination (Aeryn not believing a word), Scorpius breaks through, concerned about the comms. Aeryn finally believes, and helps John continue the discussion about their relationship being over. |
