Rygel watches on a secret device he's installed, as Chiana and Jothee enjoy each other's company.

John drinks it up, at the bar, at a commerce station they have docked at. He chatters on about events that have lead up to current day. The station is suddenly rocked by gamma disturbances. John's assured they are perfectly normal. Borlick approaches John about what she's heard about him. Aeryn covers for him saying he is not who the woman thinks he is. But after awhile, John can no longer stand the lies that have been spread about his travels and blows his cover. The woman claims to be supportive of him, and not against him. Moments later, the station is hit by another disturbance. Beams and walls collapse in the bar. Moya has become entangled in the docking ring and cables. This causes one of the Cryo Pods to open, and the Interon inside begins to awaken.

Dargo assess Moya's situation, from a transport pod. He sees another ship floating and asks Pilot to bring it aboard Moya.

Borlick tells the crew at the bar, about a curse that has seemed to plague other stations such as the one they're at. She feels they're being punished for selling in a "sacred stillness". Aeryn suggests an attack, but Borlick denies that a gamma storm could be aimed. On Moya, the Interon is awake and talking to Jothee. He tells him that the last thing he remembers is hiking and getting ill. Shortly after, he begins making choking noises and throwing up, and then dies.

As Chiana is fixing a vent, she sees a child banging on the window of a nearby part of the station. Moordil tells the crew it's a nursery, but there's no way out from the bar. John and Aeryn find a way through a conduit from the bar. During this time, John and Aeryn talk more about their relationship. In the middle of this, Aeryn falls through the floor, into another shaft. It turns out to be the waste conduit they needed.

Pilot informs John that the last gamma disturbance had made a full 90degree turn and had been aimed by a flux broadcast from within the station. And that a second was on it's way, that would surely destroy the station entirely. Since the station is too big to conduct a room to room search, they re-wire a DRD to do the work.

Dargo learns about Jothee and Chiana's betrayal. He burns a tattoo into Jothee, that he was originally going to give to Chiana as a wedding proposal.

The DRD points out Borlick. When she discovers that they know that she's the signal, she attaches herself to a grate in the ceiling. Pilot suggests using a larger source of the steel to pull her down - Pilot finds that the cryo pod is most accessible.

The cryo pod works and they bring Borlick on board Moya. Dargo successfully releases most of the cables. There are two left that are linked to a power source. He touches them together and is shocked into unconscious. He floats away, but is held to the ship with a tether. John goes out to finish and to rescue Dargo.

Aeryn reaches the nursery, but at the moment she needs the code, Moordil dies from his injuries. In desperation, she uses her newly traded weapon to open the door, and it works!

John tries to release a connection, but is knocked away. Just then, Dargo comes and brings him back. Together they get the connection off.

When John comes back in, he begins to make arrangements to jettison the cryo pod. But Borlick is out and attached to Moya's walls. Little does she know that she's attached to a hatch. Pilot blows the section out into space and the rapidly approaching gamma disturbance blows her to smithereens.

Jothee decides to leave the ship. He realizes what he's done and can't trust himself not to make more mistakes. Chiana admits that she sabotaged her relationship because she knew that Dargo would never accept no as an answer from her. Dargo watches their discussion via Rygel's device, and burns the tattoos he bought.
