The crew comes upon a creature called NamTar that claims that with a sample of each of their Quadra Helix's (from the eye, only), he will be able to give them each a star map to their own home (except for John and Aeryn). Their payment for the maps is an arm from Pilot. Aeryn was initially unwilling to give her Helix, since she has no home planet to go to, but then later decides to go ahead. Instead of taking her Quadra Helix, NamTar puts Pilot's genes into her, without her knowledge. Over the next couple of arns, she begins to transform. She tracks down Kornata (NamTar's helper), to find out that all NamTar was, was a hyped up lab rat. The now-associate had been working on increasing attributes like intelligence and the like, with DNA "implants". This resulted in a lab rat that was smart and strong enough to take over. He'd been injecting himself with the best of many races. He was using Aeryn for the attribute from Pilot that he needed. With the help of Kornata, John's able to inject NamTar with an "anti-virus", returning him to his original form. He's also able to use the injection on Aeyrn. In the meantime, Zhaan, Rygel, & D'Argo were fighting over whose planet they would go to first. The crystal is destroyed during the scuffle. They later find out that the crystal was meant to disable Moya, completely. |
