Unless otherwise marked, the following is spoken by Wayne Pygram. His comments have been kept intact to the best of my ability. Clips have been noted to the best of my ability. Enjoy!

[Clip: The Hidden Memory. Locals in the tavern on the Gammak Base notice Scorpius' entrance. Javio excuses himself, from his conversation with John.]

Initially, it was four episodes. And the nature of this show is - you know, they do start people, and if something works - give him another four and see what happens. But it certainly started as four episodes, as I think, to just up the ante for the end of Series One. Bring in um, you know, an even nastier villain per say, to you know, literally get under the skin of our hero.

[Clip: The Hidden Memory. John walks down a hallway. Scorpius calls his attention to his guards, to secure John.]

My screen test only had two pages, and even that, I had a taste of he's...potentially special. Then, once I saw some of the designs, and then when I got a draft of the actual first episode, it was confirmation of "Yes, this is special. This is something to actually invest in.", and you know, I did a hundred and ten percent work, to make sure - well I did that in the audition, to begin with, but I certainly had an attitude that I'm gonna make this a part that's that good, that you know, we can't go on without him, whatever that means. And that's sorta turned out that way, for me.

[Clip: The Hidden Memory. John rotates in the Aurora chair. Scorpius introduces himself officially, for the first time.]

It's an interesting balance, and I think bringing Scorpius in, it was a balance thing. They needed to...we needed someone who could threaten our hero, just a little bit more.

[Clip: The Hidden Memory. John, in the Chair, questions Scorpius' heritage as a Sebacean. Scorpius wonders about John, as well. He begins probing John's mind.]

I suppose, initially, I was...very assured of the original decisions I'd made and the choices I'd made. Because, I hadn't read a script prior to our screen test. I had two pages, so there wasn't much to go on. So, where my instincts went for the screen test, were certainly confirmed when I got to see a script. It was actually even better - the Aurora chair, torture, uh, invading people's subconscious - very powerful things. Um, so it was, you know, a confirmation of, "I'm in good hands", I felt even more secure. Particularly as I started to see my costume and makeup being built, and go "Oh, wow", you know, this is gonna be physically stunning. I won't - I'll just have to fill it out. Don't get seduced by it, but fill it out, and have fun within it. And I wanted to do - I wanted to break the standard conventions of what these guys are.

[Clip: The Hidden Memory. Javio brings in Captain Crais. Crais orders Scorpius to release John, but Scorpius refuses.]

He's a very interesting character, I mean he's so intelligent. He's so erudite. Um, he's so smooth. But, really, he's someone who would have been rough around the edges and still is. He has all these physical problems, but he's someone who's evolved and he's evolved on his own. No one's helped him. Now he can get people to help, because - through intimidation or through his power, he's risen through the ranks, because of his intelligence and his ability to do things that others wouldn't've.

[Clip: The Hidden Memory. Scorpius drills Crais about the (false) information that the Chair extracted, about John having given Crais the wormhole technology.]

He's one step ahead of everyone. He's a highly evolved being, who's been......unfortunately born with physical difficulties. He's Steven Hawkins. But, he's got out of the wheelchair. He's found a way to get out of that wheelchair.

[Clip: Family Ties: Crais tries to get Scorpius off his ship.]

He doesn't got stripes or - he's not like Crais. He's someone who's...very, very special services. Underground, covert. And he's probably been out there, on his own, hasn't been back to, like main control, and very rarely would have contact with them. But obviously they've given him a free reign. He's someone of - who is of consequence. He's not to be messed with and they know that. He doesn't follow party line, but he also, to a degree, satisfies, you know, a job criteria, shall we say.

[Clip: Family Ties: Crais tries one last ditch effort to keep command of his ship, including a physical fight with Scorpius, to which he loses badly.]

But he's on his own mission now. Crichton is a personal mission. And it's not about vendetta, it's about knowledge.

[Clip: Family Ties: Braca notifies Scorpius of the on coming transport pod, filled with explosives.]

I see that...it's the union between Crichton and Scorpius. The only way that either of them are going to solve that problem, is actually having some form of union. We haven't quite seen it yet, or got the full pay off. That tells me that he might have to become an even bigger renegade, to get what he wants. Cause his personal mission is certainly bigger than the mission that's been given to him, from his superiors. I think that makes him far more dangerous.

[Clip: Family Ties: Crichton gives out a scream.]

End of Interview.
